I am going in to the field of Game Art and Animation because I have a passion of wanting to find out how video games go from a single concept to a fully fledged game with Art, Design, and Programming; all intertwining to truly make a masterpiece. The beauty of the video game industry is that is can encompass anyone with a passion to create. From artists who draw up designs for characters to programmers who put thousands of lines of code to get the player character that little extra uniqueness. The actual industry has come a long way from when it first started the time arcade shops were a popular spot to see the latest and greatest of video game technology.

I personally feel passionate about joining this field of work as video games have been a part of my life ever since I was little. My passion started from a daydream in English class, wondering how a game I had been playing got the character to do all of their unique animations. This wonderment grew into a passion that I enjoy wholeheartedly every day. This type of community is unique due to a character’s actions can speak a lot about their personality. Being able to convey strong emotions just through a character’s actions is what I hope to achieve by becoming a video game animator.

My first experience into this type of community was during a video game design class during high school back in 2013. Our class was selected to come and compete in a 8 hour mobile app competition. We spent a few weeks learning how to create simple mobile applications. Unfortunately, when we got to the competition it turns out that the program we had been using had been changed to a faster and better functioning program so none of us had any skill in using it and they expected us to already be knowledgeable in it. Needless To say, our class did not do very well, but we did get to talk with a lot of other students and learn and grew from their teachings so I believed that it was still a valuable learning experience to be apart of it.
